·ESB Switch – ON-ON-ON switch able to control one wiper system with two speeds
DCS System Features
The Distributed Control System (DCS) is designed for the management of SPEICH windscreen wiper motors and window auxiliary devices. It consists of a microcontroller network, integrated the on board of each motor, in communication via CAN bus. For pantograph/pendulum wipers DCS system have the following features:
• Perfect synchronization of the wipers in all operating conditions, both in continuous and intermittent operation mode. Synchronization occurs even if the wipers are different in dimensions and wiping angles.
• The management of the wipers in groups that can have different working modes, each other independent.
• Simplified wiring due to a reduced number of wires, standard connectors and items connected one to the other in series (like links in a chain).
• Great flexibility in varying the composition of the groups, modifying the park position side and adding items to the system (control panels, wiper motors and auxiliary devices) even after installation.
• Management of auxiliary devices (electrovalves for water/air, remote switches for window and arm heaters) through the DCS.AUX4 control unit, which is a relay box with CAN bus communication.
OPERATION MODES
• Operation with panel:
• Operation with gateway:
• Direct operation:
The UC control system is designed to actuate traditional pantograph, pendulum and straight-line wipers. The UC system can also drive auxiliary devices to be used together with the wiper system such as fresh water/purge air electrovalves, wiper and window heaters. It is also possible to drive other devices, such as clear view screens. There are different versions of the UC control unit – the main difference consists in the number of wipers and auxiliaries that can be operated.
UCS System:
• The UCS system comes in a range of standard panels with the electrical part directly integrated into the panel case. The main features are:
• Serial number code of UCS control system: UCS.XY.aux where “UCS” indicates the type, “X” the wipers number, “Y” the auxiliary devices number and “aux” the possible auxiliaries driven (“S” for window washer equipments, “A” for compressed air and “H” for window and/or wiper heaters).
• The UCP system consists of a series of standard panels connected to a control box containing the electronic card that controls the motors and auxiliary devices. The main features are:
• Serial number code of the UCP control system is composed as follows: UCP.XY.aux where “UCP” indicates the type, “X” the wipers number, “Y” the auxiliary devices number and “aux” the possible auxiliaries driven (“S” for window washer equipments, “A” for compressed air and “H” for window and/or wiper heaters).
• The UCP system can be customized to satisfy the installation needs of complex situations such as on cruise and military ships. The features of these systems are:
PWS control system operates wiper motors with power supply voltage from 12 up to 24V DC. It consists in a control unit and a softouch panel in communication via CAN bus.
• Synchronization of wiper arms movement by imperceptibly stopping the motors that arrive first to the park position
• Precise park position thanks to the dynamic braking made by the control unit to the motors
• Overload protection by means of automatic fuses (PTC)
• The pump or electrovalves for windscreen washer actuation.
• PWS.1V have the following features:
• PWS.2V have the following features:
The control system LMS is developed for two-speed wiper motors available in 12V and 24V DC. The wiper arms movement is synchronized in all working modes by imperceptibly stopping the motors that arrive first to the park position. There are two versions of LMS control depending on the number of wiper motors you have to drive:
• LMS modular system
• LMS.02 system
The CT is a compact control system for the management of one or two wiper motors. This system is suitable for wiper motors operating at low voltage both single and double speed. The versions differ from the number of controlled wipers and their power. The CT system looks like a rocker switch, with the case containing the parts to drive the motors.
The CT systems come with the following features:
· Two continuous speeds – low and high as well as intermittent settings
· Dynamic parking of the motors
· Overload protection by means of automatic fuses (PTC)
· Automatic washing cycle
· The CT42 is able to synchronize the movement of the two wiper systems

Company History:
The SPEICH company started in Genoa in 1938, using their expertise in the field of optical processing to patent and produce the first clear view screen system. Speich focused on producing clear view screens until 1959, following the request of one of the most ancient Italian shipyards, when Speich designed the first wiper specifically made for the marine environment. Speich’s strict standards for reliability and durability, along with their flexibility in production allowed the business to grow, expanding their market to international customers. Since 1995, in addition to the windshield wiper production for commercial use, Speich developed the “SPEICH Nautic” line for small and medium pleasure boats, which can be easily customized while installing. In the same year the company began to provide wiper systems for railway applications. Since 2003, the company operates with a quality system according to the ISO 9001:2008 rule. In 2010, the company designed and developed an innovative wiper control system, called DCS, based on the CAN bus communication between each wiper involved in a set of wiper systems. Today SPEICH exports 70% of its production to 25 countries, and is the official supplier to NATO and other navies.
